A field guide to layering
Base, mid, shell. What each layer does, how much room each one needs, and why Fit, drawn asks what you wear underneath.

A good layering system is three garments that each do one job. The base moves sweat, the mid layer traps warm air, and the shell keeps wind and water out.
Leave room
Each layer needs space to trap air. That is why our size guide asks what you plan to wear underneath: a fleece needs about four centimetres more at the chest, a down jacket about eight.
Pick the shell for your thickest layer, not your thinnest.
Our promise
Everything we make is tested in the rain room, and repaired free for five years.
